Despite a sizeable Tech industry, and burgeoning population of Designers within Tech in India and SE Asia – a collective story was missing. With DesignUp Deconstruct, we wanted to collate and explore these stories and patterns in much greater detail.

The report delves deeper into the evolution and current state of the profession, with multiple stories from practitioners. The full (not abridged) report is free to download. In their foreword - Daniel Burka and Padmini Ray Murray say that insights and data from studies like this is a big deal—

"Should I invest time and money in a Design education? Should I join a big brand or a risky startup? Should I focus on this aspect of Design or on User Research? Data arms us with confidence to make better decisions."

On March 20, 2020 - we finally launched the report - moving from offline to online. Rewind and re-live the behind the scenes with Ripul and Rasagy, and me. Joining us from Jakarta to NYC were Abhiniit Tiwari, Head of Design at GoJek, Soo Basu - Design Manager, Microsoft (HYD), Hemant Suthar, President of ADI and founder of FractalInk (Mumbai), and Daniel Burka, Director of Resolve to Save Lives. Moderated by Shiva V with Narayan Gopalan, co-founder of DesignUp.
