DesignUp 🚀 Issue #71 > UxParty, Ux & Motion, Picular, DesignUp Updates
Back after a long hiatus ⌛️In the meantime the DesignUp Pre-events wrapped up in Chennai, Hyderabad and Singapore, we're less than 60 days to the conference (more details below👇) and there are 2 more exciting events to go before that (watch this space)!
Meanwhile: Apple's Sept event is coming up and watched, as always, with lot of anticipation. Firefox gets all set to block cross-site third-party trackers–those curious cookies hidden in plain sight—time to switch? Steve Jobs' daughter Lisa has a book out on her famous dad, and Yuval Noah Harari has his 3rd book out—21 lessons for the 21st Century. Then there's this wicked LinkedIn Recruitment Message Generator.
In the meantime, here are a few reads from the last few weeks (including a few on animating Ux)
Robert Skrobe believes that there’s going to be "a huge correction in the market this time next year for UX" and the party may well be over. From my vantage point in India, and a limited Asian perspective, looks like the party got going... but what do you think, what does your future-forward vision tell you? Is it the term UX that's in imminent danger (like so many other terms that have gone before it), or...

You may have stumbled upon Picular - "a new color search tool that lets you enter any search term and presents you with a slew of options... It’s a color-picker, courtesy of internet hive mind". How does it work?
‘UI Animation’ is typically thought of by designers as something that makes the user experience more delightful, but overall doesn’t add much value. Thus, UI Animation is often treated like the red-headed stepchild of UX (apologies to red-headed stepchildren everywhere). If at all, it usually comes at the end, as a final lipstick pass.

This was an obvious favourite since it was at the intersection of good design, thoughtful animation and tech/solutions for events: in this case Google I/O 2018 Conference app. And it features the word: "Hero Animation"
"We have unwittingly accepted the paradigm that technology comes first, with people relegated to doing the actions that the machines cannot do. This requires people to act like machines, ever ready to take over when things go wrong."
