DesignUp 🚀 Issue #62 > State of Mobile Ux, CES, 10 New Principles, BlackMirror, Reboot

Jan is almost at an end, and with renewed fervour, we Indians continue to clog the internet with Good Morning messages. In the midst of those millions of good mornings, DesignUp Reboot dates/venue have been announced (more details coming). And we're closing the Design Survey - RoundUp in a week (by Thu Feb 1st). If you haven't contributed - here's your chance to do so now (it's independent, and confidential if you want it to be). I'm looking forward to IxDA's Interaction 2018 and wonder if I'll meet any of you there. And here's this week's eclectic mix of things...

Highlights from 10 years of Mobile Reports from NNG - "in many parts of the world, more than half of the online time is spent on mobile. So it’s only right that mobile usability catches up with desktop usability. It doesn’t mean that mobile sites and apps have reached a state of usability perfection: there’s no such thing as a perfect design. It simply means that a lot of them offer a decent user experience, and that many flagrant errors of the past have been fixed." I would also add than new errors are being added as you read this...

It’s the season of Offsites, Planning Meets and Annual Roadmaps! So here’s a little something to help you through those… “In a brainstorming meeting, the pressure of coming up with incredible new ideas can be debilitating. Luckily, the last thing most corporations want is new ideas.”

I guess you would've seen them all - but this may be the trigger for a re-visit: "With four seasons of the sci-fi anthology series now in the books, it’s time to rank..."

DesignUp's first Design Retreat—a unique un-conference experience comes to Sri Lanka in end-April. Reboot promises to be a mix of inspiration and actionable take-aways: a mix of talks and workshops over conversations, deep dives and interactive sessions. Reboot is adding more mentors and will have session details coming soon. For 40 attendees only, sign-up for your invite now.

See you in SriLanka?

Until next time (I know I have been erratic with the newsletters),
