Two Sections with a varied set of links: podcasts, reads, video, apps - to start-off your week, power-up Ux and (hopefully) productivity...

For a long while I used to design tools for designers (and others) for a living. And realised how much of our lives as Designers/Creatives are defined by the mastery of our tools. This is an interesting read, in an age "where new tools are debuting almost every week".

This is a trailer for Lo and Behold - available to watch now via iTunes, Amazon Video and more. "Legendary master filmmaker Werner Herzog examines the past, present and constantly evolving future of the Internet [...] with original interviews with cyberspace pioneers, prophets and hackers".

Not exactly #UxPowerUp and I may be drifting, but this is a short, recommended read. Is there a correlation between sanitation and startup success? Anil Dash lists them all...

Better, faster, focused

Back at work, a bunch of us have been discussing about ways to focus better, deeper in the face of digital-social onslaught and information overload. Here's a small selection of useful links that may help (esp Designers who can get carried away by goodness on Pinterest, Behance, Dribbble, Instagram et al ;-))

Quitter is a Mac (sorry PC users, but there must be an equivalent) app that automatically hides or quits apps after periods of inactivity

Here's a podcast that explores "ways that mathematical and scientific algorithms can actually help improve how we live." Fascinating, 20 min listen plus bonus gifs!

Pocket has emerged as one of our favourites—"when you find something you want to view later, put it in Pocket."

RescueTime helps you understand your daily habits so you can focus and be more productive.
